Job Description:
Princeton Power Systems is seeking a Sr. level Software / Electrical Engineer to take a leadership role in developing software products that support our state of the art Power Conversion products for use in Alternative Energy, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, Micro-Grid, and Backup Power applications. As part of the leadership role this position will require significant interaction with systems applications engineers, Inverter product development engineers and various system peripheral providers. While it is expected that the Sr. level Software Engineer is a competent software developer, this role will also require the ability to contract and manage independent software consultants to maintain project schedules and prevent development bottlenecks. Expertise in design, development, and testing of software implementation of control algorithms, Windows 7 and Windows CE/Windows Mobile based GUIs, communication implementations, as well as troubleshooting control systems during system-level testing, and test plan development will be among the requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, specify, develop, and test software PC-based graphical user interfaces
  • Implement control algorithms using C#/.NET
  • Develop software documentation using flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Develop methods and procedures for software validation ensuring conformance to the software engineering design requirements
  • Assist in the maintenance of existing software systems in the field
  • Participate in and manage the complete Software Development Lifecycle
  • Work with system application and hardware engineers to define interfaces between hardware and software and specify software design solutions
  • Research and contribute to the software product roadmap by evaluating the fitness of future platforms, libraries and potential software implementations
  • Evaluate and recommend software tools as well as software development process and disciplines.

Job Description:
The Technical Application Engineer is responsible for providing expert technical support to the Sales Team through the pre-quote through order entry phase for Princeton Power Products, Energy Storage Systems and Microgrid Systems, in order to support the growth of the business. Also responsible to Program Manage specific applications projects as required.

The ideal candidate will have an industry background, an outgoing personality, and a gift for communicating Princeton Power Systems vision to both business and engineering audience. Sales Support:
  • Responsible for providing Technical Application Engineering and direction to the Sales team to support the development of market and Customer opportunities from demand creation to opportunity development, proposal development, Customer negotiations and order closure.
  • Provide Technical Application Engineering and expertise during Customer presentations, acting in an expert consultant role to guide the Customer in the planning and development of the technical solution while assuring the differentiation of the Princeton Power Systems products and offerings.
  • Work directly with customers to influence specifications and support sales team to close key orders.
  • Responsible for the pre-sales technical support of customers and the sales team.
  • Work with customers to determine their appropriate product / service solutions needs.

Job Description:
Princeton Power Systems is a growing supplier of advanced power conversion products and solutions. We are seeking a field service technician to support our west coast field applications office. This office supports equipment installation and commissioning as well as field service repair primarily on the west coast, however both national and international travel is required as necessary.

Role Summary/Purpose:
The Field Service Application Technician is responsible for providing expert technical support during product installation and commissioning. This role will also include customer service maintenance and repair responsibilities.

Essential Responsibilities:
The Field Service Application Technician is primarily responsible to support installation, service and repair of AC/DC advanced Inverter products and systems. The ideal candidate will have an industry background as an electrical service technician with a successful track record in installation and maintenance of power electronics, PV, and energy storage products. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment and will contribute to Princeton Power Systems overall strategy and success.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Attain and maintain a high level of technical competency in our product technologies, and applications.
  • Understand and apply NEC electrical code as well as the regulatory safety requirements for high power system installations.
  • Strong electrical background in high power (10kW to 500kW ) 480VAC system applications.
  • Minimum 2 years of field service experience in the energy storage / renewables equipment field.
  • Knowledge of commercial and technical aspects of Energy Storage equipment.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge in diagnosing and troubleshooting of digital controls and SCADA based control systems.

Summary:
The QA Inspector is responsible for electro-mechanical inspections of materials, parts and equipment to ensure that Quality requirements are met. Will also require the ability to write reports and provide metrics.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for performing inspections and/or audits of purchased parts, materials, equipment and following quality control process.
  • Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units or systems for in-process or final assemblies.
  • Performs sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials. Ensures raw materials, in-process, and finished products meet company standards.
  • Determines or assists in determining methods and procedures necessary for inspection.

Requirements:
  • A.S. in Electrical or Mechanical technology or background in electro mechanical design / drafting.
  • Experience in inspection of Electrical components, printed circuit boards, and sheetmetal parts.

Job Description:
The Power-electronics Design Engineer is responsible for design of power-electronics circuits and components associated with power converters, inverters and motor drives (480V AC, 10 hp to 100 hp, and 100kW to 2 MW). Job requires design of power converters (AC/DC, DC/AC. AC/AC) using MOSFETs, IGBTs, and thyristors; silicon and silicon carbide devise;; harmonic and EMI filters, high frequency transformers, high frequency capacitor banks, and selection of protection components. Knowledge of closed-loop control system is a plus. Work with cross-functional team members from product concept through production.

Job involves design and simulation of power electronics circuits using Dymola or Simplorer simulation packages. Design experience of high-power inductors and high-frequency transformers is a plus. Job includes conceptualizing, designing, documenting and procuring the components, and supporting manufacturing and testing.

Required:
  • Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team oriented, proactive, task oriented, and hands-on, able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements.
  • Electrical Engineering degree, BSEE (MSEE preferred) with 2+ years related experience required.
  • Desired to have experience with power converters, motor drives, VSDs, inverters, 480V AC to 15kV, kilowatt to megawatt. Familiarity with IEEE, UL, NEMA, ANSI, CEC, MIL, and other standards and qualification testing is a plus.
  • Candidate should be able to handle multiple projects, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of performing and/or oversee laboratory high power testing, and comfortable in a hands-on product development environment.
Job Description:
The Control System Engineer is responsible for design of control algorithms, remote communications, and software code applicable to power converters, inverters, and motor drive products. Job involves simulation of power-electronics and controls systems simulation and also involves the developing controls algorithm, overall control architecture, and the development of software design documentation and code development and writing.

Qualifications:
  • Position requires and individual who is self-motivated, self—managed, team-oriented, proactive, task oriented, and hands-on, able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements.
  • BS/MS in electrical engineering or computer science with 5+ years related experience in control system design, embedded software design/coding, or electronic component/ system modeling is required. Understanding of the fundamentals of analog electrical circuits, including the ability to derive and solve circuit differential equations is a plus. Candidate shall also understand control theory, particularly as applied to PWM power converter control and motor control and have the ability of programming real-time digital control systems in C.
  • Candidate should be able to handle multiple projects, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable to perform and/or oversee laboratory high power testing in excess of 30kW and up to 300kW, and comfortable in a hands-on product development environment.
